Thyroglobulin Level
The thyroglobulin test is primarily used as a tumor marker to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment for thyroid cancer and to monitor for recurrence. Not every thyroid cancer will produce thyroglobulin, but the most common types, the well-differentiated papillary and follicular thyroid cancers, frequently do, resulting in increased levels of thyroglobulin in the blood.
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values: Up to 55 ng/ml
Method: CLIA
Loinc: 3013-0
TIBC-Total Iron Bind. Capacity
Total iron binding capacity (TIBC) is a blood test that measures iron levels in the blood. The test helps measure the ability of a protein called transferrin to carry iron in the blood.
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values:
3-12 Months: 290-436 μg/dl
1-3 Years Old: 274-475 μg/dl
4-10 Years Old: 262-497 μg/dl
11-16 Years Old: 290-441 μg/dl
Adults: 250-450 μg/dl
Method: Colorimetric/Enzymατιψ
Loinc: 2500-7
Total Protein
A total serum protein test measures the total amount of protein in the blood. It also measures the amounts of two major groups of proteins in the blood: albumin and globulin.
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values: 6.3-8.2 g/dl
Method: Biuret Reaction
Loinc: 2885-2
Total Protein (Urine)
The 24-hour urine protein test checks the function of the kidneys and detects disease.
Specimen: Urine
Reference Values:
24 Hours Urine: <150 mg/24hours
Random Urine: <30 mg/dl
Method:Photometric
Loinc: 2889-4
Total T3
Triiodothyronine, also known as T3, is a thyroid hormone. It affects almost every physiological process in the body, including growth and development, metabolism, body temperature, and heart rate.
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values:
Method:
Loinc: 14930-2
Total T4 (Thyroxine)
Thyroxine (T4) is synthesized in the thyroid gland. T4 is metabolized to triiodothyronine (T3) peripherally by deiodination. T4 is considered a reservoir or prohormone for T3, the biologically most active thyroid hormone.
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values: 60-161 nmol/L
Method: CLIA
Loinc: 3026-2
Toxoplasma Avidity Test
The avidity determination is a diagnostic method which is used to differentiate a recent (acute) and a more distant (past) infection with Toxoplasma gondii in patient sera. Avidity is the binding force of the antibody (serum specimen) with the corresponding antigen.
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values:
>30%: High (Past Infection)
20-30%: Equivocal
<20% Low (Acute Infection)
Method:
Loinc: 56990-5
Toxoplasma IgG
A single-celled parasite called Toxoplasma gondii causes a disease known as toxoplasmosis. However, pregnant women and individuals who have compromised immune systems should be cautious , for them, a Toxoplasma infection could cause serious health problems Toxoplasma IgG = Past Infection
Specimen: Serum
Reference Values:
Non Reactive: <1.0 IU/ml
Equivocal: 1.0-2.99 IU/ml
Reactive: >3.0 IU/ml

Triglycerides
Triglycerides are a type of fat (lipid) found in your blood. When you eat, your body converts any calories it doesn’t need to use right away into triglycerides. The triglycerides are stored in your fat cells. Later, hormones release triglycerides for energy between meals. If you regularly eat more calories than you burn, particularly “easy” calories like carbohydrates and fats, you may have high triglycerides

Normal: <150 mg/dl
Borderline High: 150-199 mg/dl
High: >200 mg/dl
Method: Enzymatic
Loinc: 2571-8
Trypsin Activity, Stools
Trypsin is always present in high amounts is stools of normal children. In adults the activity is much less because of proteolytic bacteriae in adult gastrointestinal tract. Low trypsin activity in children is associated with malabsorbtion disease.
Specimen: Stool

Method:
Loinc: 26960-5
Tryptase
Tryptase is an enzyme that is released, along with histamine and other chemicals, from mast cells when they are activated as part of a normal immune response as well as in allergic (hypersensitivity) responses. This test measures the amount of tryptase in the blood.

TSH (Thyroid Stimul. Hormone)
A thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) blood test is used to check for thyroid gland problems. TSH is produced when the hypothalamus releases a substance called thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH). TRH then triggers the pituitary gland to release TSH.
Specimen: Serum
Method: CLIA
